This year, we are celebrating World Animal Day (WAD/4 Oct) with ACRES in support of their retail partnership collaboration! 20% proceeds from all sales between 1st and 8th October will go towards raising funds for ACRES Charity.
They intend to raise $10,000 which will go towards fuelling their wildlife rescue vehicle for 1 year.
ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character (IPC) founded in 2001.
They aim to promote animal welfare and wildlife protection through various means such as wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, as well as community outreach.
Aside from raising funds, they hope to bring the local community of cruelty-free and environmentally-friendly businesses together to create awareness and promote:
- (a) cruelty-free living to reduce the consumption of animal products
- (b) sustainable shopping alternatives to reduce overconsumption and waste
- (c) co-existing with wildlife in Singapore
Wild animals belong in nature. But, in Singapore, they face threats from habitat loss, human-wildlife conflicts, get injured on the roads or get poisoned. In 2022 alone, ACRES 24-hour wildlife rescue hotline handled 18,528 calls, rescued 4,544 distressed wildlife & empowered over 20,000 individuals to help animals.
With Singapore Green Plan 2030, there is an ever increasing need for everyone in Singapore to be equipped with the knowledge to manage wildlife encounters, and have measures in place to ensure safe human-wildlife interactions. We are in constant need of funds to sustain and grow our animal protection work. Your contribution would mean the world to us and the animals we advocate for through our work.
