Indosole was featured in Herein, the luxury lifestyle publication of Marriott International, alongside some of the world's most celebrated destinations, designers and culinary figures.
Published in Season 4 (Spring/Summer), the feature — titled Sole Solution and written by travel writer Terry Ward — tells the origin story of Indosole through the eyes of founder Kyle Parsons: a blown-out flip flop on a street in Seminyak, Bali, in 2004, and the moment that changed the direction of his life and career.
The article traces Indosole's journey from a chance encounter with a pair of tire-soled sandals in a Bali shop window, through to a B Corp certified footwear brand that has kept more than 150,000 discarded tires out of Indonesian landfills. It covers the evolution of the brand's manufacturing process — from cutting tire sections by hand to the SETT (Sole Engineered Tire Technology) process that pulverises tires into powder for moulding — and the brand's broader mission to address tire waste, one of the world's most persistent environmental problems.
As Parsons is quoted in the piece: "From an environmental standpoint, the true meaning of sustainability is a product that can withstand the test of time. A recycled tire sole is very strong and doesn't shred or break down. We feel Indosole are truly sustainable because they're durable."
Herein is distributed across Marriott International's global network of luxury branded residential communities, reaching an audience of high-net-worth property owners and guests across over 30 countries.
